Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use Aveldo?
No. Aveldo works without an account and stores your training on your iPhone. Signing in with your Apple Account or Google account is optional: it lets you reach your account from another iPhone and, with Aveldo Pro, keeps a copy of your workouts on our server that syncs when the app opens. What an account stores is in the Privacy Policy.
Where is my training stored?
On your iPhone, in the app's own database, and that copy is the one the app works from. If you are signed in and have Aveldo Pro, a copy of your workouts, exercises and sets is also kept on our server in the European Union, readable by no other user, and brought to your other devices when the app opens.
Why did Aveldo ask me questions when I first opened it?
To set itself up around how you train: your weekly goal, training days, reminder time, rep range, rest length, sets per exercise, weight step and unit. Every answer becomes a default you can change later under Profile, and none of it is a sign-up.
Is there a free version of Aveldo?
Yes, and it is most of the app: unlimited workout logging, up to four routines, unlimited custom exercises, the automatic rest timer, workout reminders, weekly streaks, the post workout comparison, the last 90 days of progress history and the basic progress and body insights, with no advertising.
What does Aveldo Pro include?
Unlimited routines, automatic weight increases, the Aveldo Push before a workout, routine readiness, unlimited progress history (6 months, a year and all time), the advanced progress insights (Typical Rep Range, Muscle Distribution, Performance Consistency, Peak Performance, strength trends per muscle and per routine), the Body screen's sets face, cloud backup and sync, and CSV export and import.
What does Aveldo Pro cost?
It comes three ways: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one time lifetime purchase. All three unlock exactly the same features. Where the App Store offers it, the yearly plan starts with a seven day free trial. The current price for your region is shown in the app and on the App Store.
How do I cancel my Aveldo Pro subscription?
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and manage Aveldo there. Aveldo's own Settings has a Manage purchase row that opens the same controls. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves the period you have already paid for running to its end. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and we cannot cancel one for you.
I bought Aveldo Pro but a new device shows it locked.
Make sure the new iPhone uses the same Apple Account as the purchase, then open Profile, tap the Aveldo Pro card and use Restore. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account.
How do I move my workouts to a new iPhone?
With Aveldo Pro: sign in with the same account on both iPhones and open the app; new workouts are fetched when it launches. Without Aveldo Pro, your training moves with an iPhone backup or Apple's device to device transfer, like any other app's data.
I deleted a workout by accident.
Check the Tray, under Profile. Deleted workouts, exercises and sets are kept there rather than destroyed, until you empty it yourself. Swipe an item to restore it, or use Restore all in the Tray's menu.
I deleted the app and lost my workouts.
The local copy goes with the app, and reinstalling starts empty. If you were signed in with Aveldo Pro, sign in again and your workouts come back from the server copy when the app opens. Otherwise an iPhone backup made before deleting is the way back. If you are stuck, write to us.
How do I delete my account?
Settings, then Delete Account at the very bottom. It asks you to type DELETE because there is no way back: the account, its settings, the server copy of your workouts and your feedback are removed at once, and the app returns to its first run state.
What is gym mode?
Starting a workout locks the screen: the tab bar hides so you cannot mis-tap between sets, and only the set lines take input. Tap the close button to unlock and finish the workout.
Why does a set line show grey numbers?
Those are hints, not data: the weight and reps you did last time for that set, or the bottom of your rep range for a set with no history. Nothing counts until you type it. The weight itself carries over from your last session, so you start where you left off.
Why did my next session start with a heavier weight?
Automatic weight increase, an Aveldo Pro feature you can switch off under Personalization. When a set reached the top of your rep range last time, it comes back one step heavier, with its rep hint starting over at the bottom of the range. A set that fell short keeps its weight. Reps always start empty.
Why did the rest timer not start?
The timer starts when you leave a set line after typing its reps. Check under Personalization that the automatic rest timer is on and its style is not off, and note that the rest after an exercise's last set is skipped if you turned that option on.
How is the Strength Trend calculated?
For each exercise, the best set of a session gives an estimated one rep max from weight and reps (the Epley formula, sets of 1 to 15 reps). The trend compares the latest session in the window with the first, per exercise, and averages the changes. Bodyweight and timed exercises stay out, and an exercise needs sessions on two different days before it counts.
How is muscle recovery calculated?
Every completed set takes a fixed slice off its muscle group's recovery, and time pays it back linearly over 72 hours. It is a model from your log, not a measurement of your body.
Why does the Progress screen stop at 90 days?
The free version shows the last 7, 30 and 90 days. Aveldo Pro adds the last 6 months, the last year and all time. Your workouts are never deleted either way; only the window changes.
Are the percentages medical advice?
No. Every figure in Aveldo is arithmetic on the sets you typed in, not a measurement of your body, and none of it is a substitute for professional advice.
How do I report a bug?
The quickest way is the Feedback row in the Profile tab, which sends your message straight to us. For anything that needs more, send the steps to reproduce it, your app version and your device model to legal.aveldo@hotmail.com.
