Aveldo is a gym workout and progress tracking app for iPhone. This policy explains what it stores, where that data lives, and who else can see it. The short version: your training is written to your own phone. If you never sign in, no workout, set or weight ever leaves it. If you sign in and use Aveldo Pro, a copy of your workouts is kept on our server in the European Union and synced to your other devices when the app opens. No other user can read it.

Beyond that, a small number of services see something, and this policy says plainly what: every install has an anonymous identifier on our server, an analytics service receives a fixed list of anonymous events about how the app is used, and a purchase service handles Aveldo Pro. None of them receives your workouts. The sections below spell out exactly what each one gets.

1. Who is responsible

Aveldo is developed and published by Christos Alexis Fantino, an individual in Switzerland. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP), Christos Alexis Fantino is the data controller for the processing described below.

2. What Aveldo stores on your phone

Everything you enter is written to a local database on your iPhone, and that copy is the one the app works from.

• Workouts and exercisesNames, dates, and the exercises inside each workout.
• SetsWeight in kilograms and repetitions for each set, or repetitions alone for a bodyweight exercise, or a duration for a timed one.
• Gym sessionsWhen a workout started and how long it ran, for the gym time figures.
• Your setup answersWhat you pick when you first open the app: the figure style, your training goal, weekly goal, training days, reminder times, rep range, rest length, sets per exercise, weight step, weight unit, the push style, and the questions about how you train and how you heard about Aveldo.
• Muscle recoveryOne value per muscle group, worked out from the sets you logged, shown on the Today screen.
• TrayItems you delete are kept there until you empty it, so a single tap never destroys anything.
• PreferencesUnits, the rest timer's settings, and similar display settings.

Aveldo never asks for your date of birth, your location, your contacts, your photos, or access to Apple Health, and the app itself has no field for your name or email address. The one place identity enters at all is the optional account described in section 4.

3. The anonymous identifier every install has

The first time Aveldo opens with a network connection it creates an anonymous account on our server: a random identifier, with no name and no email address behind it. Against that identifier we keep a small presence record: whether the account is anonymous, your device's language setting, when the app was last opened, and the app version. It tells us how many people use Aveldo and whether an update has reached them. Nothing about your training is attached to it unless you sign in and use Aveldo Pro (section 5).

The same identifier is what the purchase service knows you by (section 6). The identifier is kept in the iOS Keychain on your device and is reused on every launch.

4. Signing in, which is optional

You can use all of Aveldo without ever signing in. Signing in with your Apple Account or your Google account, offered once after setup and available later under Settings, does two things: it makes the anonymous account permanent, so you can reach it again from another iPhone, and it is what allows Aveldo Pro's cloud backup and sync. There is no Aveldo password: Apple or Google confirm who you are, and we receive the result.

What signing in adds to your account on our server:

• Your email addressProvided by Apple or Google. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your real address and hand us a relay address instead. Nothing is keyed on the email; the identifier is what your data is attached to.
• Your nameOnly if the sign-in provider shares one. It labels your account and does nothing else.
• Your setupYour setup answers and Personalization settings (section 2), stored as one document so a second iPhone that signs in starts with your setup instead of the defaults. This is stored for every signed-in account, Pro or not; it contains no workout.

Sign-in tokens are kept in the iOS Keychain on your device. Signing out removes them and leaves the training data on your phone untouched. Signing in with a different account than the one this phone belongs to clears the previous account's local training data first, so two people's logs are never mixed on one device. If Apple tells us you revoked Aveldo's access to your Apple Account, the app signs you out.

5. Cloud backup and sync (Aveldo Pro)

For an account that is signed in and has Aveldo Pro, Aveldo keeps a copy of your training log on our server: your workouts, exercises, sets and gym sessions, with their names, dates, weights, repetitions and durations, including items sitting in the Tray. The copy is refreshed shortly after the app opens and when you leave it. When the app opens, it also fetches any workout the copy holds that this phone does not, which is how a second iPhone, or a reinstall, gets your training back. Deleting a workout permanently from the Tray, or using Reset logged data in Settings, removes the same rows from the copy.

The copy is stored in the European Union, it is attached to your account, and no other user can read it. We hold it only so your history can outlive your device and follow you to the next one; we do not analyse it. Your phone remains the working copy. Recovery figures are not part of it.

Without Aveldo Pro, nothing about your training is ever sent, signed in or not. Without a sign-in, there is no account to send it to. The copy lives as long as your account does: deleting your account, in Settings, removes it along with everything else we hold, section 12.

6. Aveldo Pro and purchases

Aveldo is free to use. An optional upgrade, Aveldo Pro, is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one time lifetime purchase. Payment is taken by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Aveldo asks one question, whether a valid Pro unlock exists for this Apple Account, and receives yes or no. That question is answered for us by RevenueCat, which validates the App Store receipt on its servers. RevenueCat knows you by the same identifier as your Aveldo account (section 3), so a purchase can follow the account to another device, and it receives the purchase information Apple provides. It does not receive your name, your email address, or any of your training data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

If the yearly plan is offered with a free trial and you start one, Aveldo schedules one notification on your device two days before the trial converts to a paid subscription. If a purchase is refunded or a subscription lapses, the Pro features lock again; your training data is not touched.

7. Analytics

Aveldo uses PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how the app is used. This is a short, fixed list of events, defined in one file in the source and nowhere else. Automatic screen tracking is switched off, and the events ride an anonymous device identifier that is never linked to your account or to the identifier in section 3.

The events cover the setup flow and the purchase screen: which setup screen was shown (not what you answered on it), that the purchase screen was seen or closed and with which plan selected, taps on its Restore, Redeem, Terms and Privacy links, a restored purchase, a redeemed offer code, and a completed purchase with its plan, product, price, currency, whether it started a free trial, and the one setup answer that rides along: where you heard about Aveldo. They tell us where people find Aveldo and where the setup loses them.

What PostHog never receives: your workouts, your exercises, your sets, your weights, your reps, your gym times, your muscle figures, your other setup answers, your name, or your email address. There is no advertising identifier, no ad network, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking, so nothing here follows you around the internet and there is no data being sold.

8. Feedback

The Feedback screen in the Profile tab sends exactly the message you typed, with the category you picked, to our server, attached to your account identifier so we can reply in context. No device details, screenshots or logs ride along. Anything you send us by email is governed by this policy too.

9. Notifications

Aveldo's notifications are created on your device and never come from a server: one workout reminder a day at the time you chose, on the days you chose, and, if you start an Aveldo Pro trial, one reminder two days before it converts. Permission is asked once during setup, and the reminder can be switched off under Profile, Notifications. The rest timer's countdown in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen is a Live Activity rendered by iOS on your device; nothing is transmitted for it.

10. Third parties

Five, and no others:

• AppleThe App Store, the purchase itself, Sign in with Apple, and system features such as notifications and Live Activities.
• GoogleSign in with Google, only if you choose it. Google learns that you signed in to Aveldo, and nothing about your training.
• SupabaseHosts our database in the European Union: the identifiers and accounts, your setup document, the Aveldo Pro backup, and your feedback. Sections 3, 4, 5 and 8.
• RevenueCatValidates your purchase so the app knows Pro is unlocked. Section 6.
• PostHogAnonymous product analytics, in the EU. Section 7.

On launch the app also fetches a small configuration record from our server, the latest version number and whether maintenance is on; that request carries no account data. Beyond what this policy describes there is no other service, no ad network, and nobody who buys, rents or receives your training data.

11. Legal basis for processing

The on-device data, the anonymous identifier, your account and the Aveldo Pro backup are processed to provide the app's core function at your request, which is the performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Purchase verification rests on the same basis. The analytics in section 7 rest on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app under Article 6(1)(f), weighed against the fact that they carry no training data and are not linked to your identity.

12. Retention and deletion

Your training stays on your device for as long as you keep the app. Deleting a workout, an exercise or a set moves it to the Tray, where it waits until you restore it or delete it permanently, and "Reset logged data" in Settings clears all of it at once; for a Pro account that is signed in, both also remove the rows from the server copy. The server copy follows your account, not the app: it is refreshed while you use Aveldo and it is removed when your account is deleted.

"Delete Account" in Settings deletes your account and with it everything we hold: the identifier and presence record, your setup document, the backup, and your feedback. This happens immediately and cannot be undone. Deleting just the app removes the local database from your phone. If you had Aveldo Pro and were signed in, reinstalling and signing in brings your workouts back from the copy; otherwise an iPhone backup made before deleting is the way to keep your history.

13. Your rights

Under the GDPR and the nFADP you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Most of them are already in your hands: your training is on your device, where you can read, change or delete all of it, Aveldo Pro's Export Data writes the whole log to a CSV file you keep, and Delete Account in Settings erases everything we hold about you without asking us first.

For anything else, write to legal.aveldo@hotmail.com and we will respond. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

14. Children

Aveldo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

15. Training disclaimer

Aveldo is a logbook, not a coach and not a medical device. Every figure it shows, the trends, the percentages, the recovery and the muscle shading alike, is arithmetic on the sets you typed in, not a measurement of your body. None of it is medical advice. Consult a qualified professional before starting or changing a training programme, and stop if something hurts.

16. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the updated version will appear at this address with a new date at the top. Continuing to use Aveldo after a change means you accept the revised policy.
